Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative

Through the Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative (NRI), a program of Habitat for Humanity International, Habitat for Humanity SF/SCV serves more families by responding to community needs with an expanded array of products, services and partnerships, enhancing the quality of life for all. All of Habitat for Humanity SF/SCV’s programs fall under NRI program goals including:

  • Working with residents and other significant stakeholders in the community to develop a common plan of recovery and vision for the future.
  • Forging both formal and informal partnerships and alliances at the local level.
  • Joining or forming community coalitions.
  • Rallying active neighborhood support.

Our Habitat “Enriched” Neighborhoods, “A Brush with Kindness” programs, and Enriched Services all speak to the NRI mission. Our affiliate has also taken the initiative a step further by providing construction and repair assistance for partner organizations whose services serve our low-income families. By assisting partner organizations with small repairs they can continue to use their funds to better their services that serve our Habitat Families. In addition, Partners like the American Legion and The Action Family Zone offer their facilities to Habitat as community centers so that more partners can provide services in one convenient place for our families.
