In Celebration of World Habitat Day, on October 5, 2008, Habitat for Humanity, SF/SCV, along with hundreds of volunteers, families and friends will raise the walls on some of its next 17 homes in its 61 home Pacoima neighborhood project. This supportive neighborhood provides affordable housing to hard working low income Americans from around the world, many of whom were displaced from their native countries due to war or poverty. Come hear the story of Kathy and her family, who fled war-torn West Africa and now see their vision of the American Dream coming true in this new Habitat neighborhood.
