Youth United

youthlogo2-w1Youth United mobilizes young people to fund and build homes with their local Habitat for Humanity affiliate while learning how to advocate for affordable housing and assisting with events and community outreach activities. Youths learn leadership and teamwork skills, and gain a better understanding of their community and poverty housing. Our Campus Chapters are entirely student organized and funded. All Campus Chapter members must engage in four core activities: advocacy, education, fundraising, and building homes (activities for students under 16 are available).

Act! Speak! Build! Week
Act! Speak! Build! Week is a student-initiated week of advocacy on behalf of Habitat for Humanity and housing issues. Act! Speak! Build! Week empowers young people to educate themselves and their communities and move people to social action. Young people, ages 5 to 25, work in partnership with local affiliates to plan and host events focused on ending poverty housing.

World Habitat Day
World Habitat Day, designated by the United Nations, is an international effort to emphasize the importance of improving housing for the world’s poor. This year World Habitat Day is Ocotober 3rd!

Our Youth United program is one of the largest in the country. Current Youth United members and Campus Chapters include:

Participants are encouraged to develop their skills and utilize creativity in the areas of urban planning, marketing, sustainable & green building, social media, family & volunteer services, and more!
