A Brush With Kindness
 

Our Mission:

A Brush with Kindness seeks to help low-income homeowners restore their homes so they can continue to live in a safe, decent and affordable home while bringing volunteers together to live out their values by helping a homeowner in need—specifically focusing on the seniors and frail or disabled members of our community.
     
 

The Work We Do:
A Brush with Kindness has a scope of work that includes exterior painting, landscaping and minor repairs on homes of low-income homeowners. With the help of volunteers. A Brush with Kindness preserves housing stock in the North Los Angeles area, including the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys..

 A Brush with Kindness is a wonderful program that links Habitat volunteers who are not busy on builds on a particular day with the community needs—preventing frail, disabled or elderly homeowners from losing their homes due to poor upkeep or from having to live in subhuman conditions. 

Our affiliate chooses to partner with other social service agencies to provide this program, ensuring that there is not a duplication of services and that those programs most expert at selecting needy seniors and specially abled persons are screening for need and priority. 

Our Community Outreach Director works with these agencies to ensure that our volunteers’ skills and community needs are matched so that everyone enjoys a meaningful experience with positive outcomes.
